Benjamin Bragg


Benjamin J. Bragg has been practicing law in Iowa since April of 2012.  The Bragg Law Firm is a general practice firm. However, Ben practices primarily in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and various other types of civil litigation.  Ben graduated from Iowa State University in 2006 with a double major in History and Classical Studies. He graduated from Drake University Law School with High Honors in December 2011. While in law school, Ben was a member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law. He was also a representative on the Student Bar Association. He received top grades in Criminal Procedure and Constitutional Law igniting a passion for protecting the civil rights of everyone including those charged with crimes.   After passing the bar exam, Ben clerked for multiple district court judges in the First and Fifth Judicial Districts of Iowa in both Black Hawk and Dallas counties. Following this, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Judge Christopher McDonald of the Iowa Court of Appeals, who now serves as a Justice on the Iowa Supreme Court.  He is admitted to practice in Iowa.

When not practicing law, Ben competes in and trains for powerlifting competitions. He fosters dogs with his wife Mia through the Aheinz57 Dog Rescue located in De Soto, Iowa.

Criminal Defense- including to not limited to Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) including DOT administrative hearings concerning license revocation, Controlled Substance Violations and Possession, Thefts, Assaults, Burglary, Robbery, and any other State or Federal charge

Family Law- including but not limited to Divorces, Child Custody, Alimony or Spousal Support, Child Support, Juvenile Matters et al.

Civil Litigation including personal injury ranging from slip and falls to motor vehicle accidents; Workers’ Compensation; commercial and business litigation including small business disputes and collection matters.

Business Formation: Corporations, both S Corps and C Corps, LLCs, LLPs et al.

Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning.

While these are the main focuses of Benjamin’s practice, his clerking experience has familiarized him with many other areas of law. So, he can hear your issue and if it is not something he usually handles, he can refer you to someone who does.
